Kaitlyn Garbarino

Kaitlyn Garbarino (she/her) is the Director of Interpretation at the Baltimore Museum of Art. She sets the strategy for in-gallery, off-site, and online interpretive resources—digital platforms, touch objects, visitor engagement spaces, gallery text, audio guides—in collaboration with the Interpretation team, curatorial and design colleagues, external contractors, and community partners. Garbarino also leads a cross-departmental team of colleagues to implement accessibility roadmap tasks as chair of the BMA’s Accessibility Working Group. She regularly lectures on interpretive strategies at institutions including Johns Hopkins University, Berea College, and the University of Missouri.
Prior to joining the BMA, Garbarino held positions at the Saint Louis Museum of Art, Carnegie Museum of Art, University of Missouri–Columbia, and in private collections. She holds an MA in art history and archaeology from the University of Missouri–Columbia and a BA in art history from Duquesne University.
