The BMA is located in the heart of Charles Village, on Art Museum Drive at North Charles and 31st Streets.
It’s easy to get here by car or using public transportation. If you’re visiting Baltimore, the Museum is only three miles north of the Inner Harbor.
Please be aware of street closures at southbound Charles St. and 33rd St. due to construction at Johns Hopkins University.
Public Transportation
There are three public transportation lines that stop directly across from the BMA at Charles Street & 31st Street:
- MTA CityLink Silver bus line
- MTA Administration LocalLink 51 bus line
- Charm City Circulator Purple Route
When using public transportation, remember to check for updates on bus locations and service times.
Parking at the BMA
The BMA East and West lots are available for BMA and Gertrude’s restaurant patrons. Both lots include wheelchair-accessible spaces.
BMA Members receive $3 off parking during Museum hours. Check in at the Welcome Desk to receive your discount. See all Member benefits.
Parking rates:
- FREE for up to 30 minutes
- $12 Daily Rate (6 a.m.-5 p.m.)
- $9 Evening Rate (5 p.m.-12 a.m.)
- FREE for cars with accessibility placards or plates
You can pay for BMA parking at the Welcome Desk or at the pay station in the East Lobby. We accept cash, debit cards, and credit cards.
Please note that the BMA is not responsible for damages to, loss of, or thefts from vehicles parked on its premises. As a precaution, please do not leave valuables unattended in your car.
Accessible Parking
The accessible entrance and a limited number of accessible parking spaces are located on the east side of the building. If the accessible spaces are full, visitors with accessibility placards or plates are welcome to park in the East and West parking lots for free. Remember to bring your parking ticket to the Box Office for verification and validation.
Other Parking Options
JHU South Garage
Parking is also available at The Johns Hopkins University (JHU) South Garage, a large underground parking facility accessed from Wyman Park Drive (between San Martin Drive and Art Museum Drive). More information is available at JHU.edu.
On-Street Parking
Limited on-street metered parking is available on Art Museum Drive. E-Z Park Meters accept coins, debit cards, and credit cards. Display the printed parking receipt on your dashboard.
